00:00 When it comes to PowerPoint, the most effective way to use slides in a presentation is to have no more than one idea per slide.

00:12 Now, that sounds crazy to some of you because you're used to thinking in terms of, well, should I have 15 bullet points or seven bullet points or four charts or only two charts? I'm telling you, you're going to be much better off focusing on one idea per slide and to make that idea come alive, not using text.

00:34 No, I'm not anti text.

00:35 I love text. I read books every day, newspapers everyday.

00:38 I've written eight books, but I don't have any evidence that projecting text up on a slide when you're speaking is particularly helpful to your audience. So limit your slide to one idea, one idea per slide, and you'll actually be communicating more, not less.
