00:08 Okay. How did I get here? This is not the real world; this is not the world in which you are currently sitting.

    00:20 This is something unique.

00:22 Who knows, maybe we'll find out what it is.

00:24 Maybe you already have an idea.

00:26 In any event, this is not reality, nor is it the real world.

00:30 When we look at the real world, we see that there is one part and a counterpart, which are opposites of one another.

00:37 That is the concept of virtual reality.

00:41 You've probably heard about folks who wear VR headsets, which are completely shut off.

00:46 We no longer see anything from the actual world while wearing a VR headset.

00:50 We only exist in the virtual world and can only explore things in it.

00:55 "OK, I'd like to be on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco," I could say.

01:00 I'm standing there, ready to see the world.

01:03 I could just as easily go to a showroom.

01:06 Perhaps I'm organizing an event and require the use of a huge exhibition hall in Hanover, Barcelona, Moscow, or Tokyo.

01:14 I can thoroughly investigate all of the choices up front by visiting these halls and seeing what they could look like.

01:24 Augmented reality is an entirely different animal.

01:27 Augmented means "expanded," thus we expand the physical environment and then get access to digital information.

01:35 For example, I could be in a museum and notice a vase.

01:41 I simply take out my smartphone and all of the information, all of the digital information is presented on the side.

01:49 I now know who made this vase and have all of the details.

01:55 Every Pokémon Go player understands what augmented reality is.

02:00 Pikachu suddenly leaps up on a stone or a footpath - this is augmented reality.

02:07 The following level is hybrid reality, which attempts to merge two universes.

    02:13 I'm in my apartment's living room.

02:16 And I have a couch, which I would like to replace.

02:20 I need a new couch, so I can replace this one with a product from a furniture manufacturer that has the same measurements.

02:30 At the same time, I could think, "Wouldn't this couch look different if the wall behind it was a different color?" And the hue can be changed with the press of a button.

02:42 And I can also say, "How about putting in a window here?" Then another window appears here. That is where we are currently seeing AR and VR converge, and it is the next phase in this evolution. That is a muddled reality.

03:03 Now I have some ideas for you on how you can use VR in your business.

03:09 We shall take a look at different industries, beginning with tourism.

03:13 360° images are already prevalent in hotel rooms.

03:18 Now we take it a step further and use VR to not only observe the room in 360° but also to enter it and beam ourselves there.

03:28 We glance around and gain a sense of the room before deciding on the two beds or the junior suite. The same may be said about the real estate industry.

03:39 If you want to build a house, the architect can now offer you an idea of how it will look before you start. How will the living room look? How will the kitchen feel? You imagine yourself in the situation and consider how it will appear later on, which brings us to the topic of industrial plants.

03:56 They are large investments - very labor-intensive, time-consuming, and costly - and now, thanks to VR technology, we can see every mistake in advance since we beam into this virtual space in 3D.

04:12 We can tell right away that this is not the same as looking at the plans.

04:20 There is also training, training, and more training.

04:24 For example, we have a train driver, which is a very expensive training.

04:28 He eventually wants to be fully trained, and he has to sit at the front of the train and manipulate the control buttons.

04:35 You can perform this in a real train or VR for the first 20 hours.

04:40 That means the train's resources and time resources are both conserved.

04:44 You can improve your productivity.

04:47 Educational classes will almost certainly see a VR hype, and we won't even get into entertainment. There is the gaming industry.

04:58 There will be VR zones at concerts and live events with comedians.

05:04 We can just go there without being present on location, yet we were there live.

05:17 The distinctions between augmented and mixed reality are becoming increasingly blurred.

05:22 Nonetheless, I've got some ideas for you.

05:24 Let us begin with the tourism industry once more.

05:26 I see myself sitting in the Colosseum in Rome, with Julius Caesar to my left, telling me about the city. I want to see a gladiator battle ten minutes after I found out everything. The gladiators are on the field, and I'm surrounded by a raucous crowd of onlookers. I have the impression that I am present in that moment.

05:47 Aside from tourism, there is also the option of seeing CAD drawings, designs, and drawings in general with colleagues in a room.

05:57 Another topic is machine maintenance, for example.

06:01 Assume we have an industrial factory in Singapore that is malfunctioning.

06:06 We now have one expert who is someplace in Arizona.

06:10 He's familiar with this equipment like the back of his hand, yet he'd normally have to fly to Singapore. Or we have a service technician on site who is assisted by an expert from Arizona using augmented mixed reality, and the expert from Arizona provides him directions. At the same time, it is a type of additional training, and this is how training may appear in the future.

06:35 The benefits of this technology are self-evident.

06:39 We can boost our productivity if we use it wisely and intelligently.

06:43 We can be more efficient; we no longer need to transport our staff halfway around the world; instead, we convene with specialists as needed.

06:52 Simultaneously, this produces a new type of collaboration, a distinct interaction.

06:59 When the guru is conferenced in and advises the student on how to handle difficulties, it is not only economical, but also instructive, and thus training on the side.

07:10 As a result, we establish a whole new business culture, a digital company culture, and, in some circumstances, we also educate employees for specific everyday scenarios.

07:25 A young doctor who has recently begun working in a hospital is one example.

07:30 He or she must work in the emergency room the following week.

07:33 We could utilize these technologies to prepare these people for these eventualities, and I'm sure you can think of many additional ways to apply this to your business.
